Mars 2020 – Progress

Mars 2020 is a NASA mission to Mars which launched from Earth on 30 July 2020 at 12:50 GMT and is due to land on Mars on 18 Feb 2021 at the Jezero Crater.

The spacecraft is carrying the Perseverance rover which will land on the surface of Mars.

The Perseverance rover will seek signs of ancient life and collect rock and soil samples for possible return to Earth by a future mission. It is carrying the Mars Helicopter, Ingenuity, to test powered flight on another world for the first time

At the moment, Mars 2020 is cruising through space on its journey to Mars has travelled a total of 245,923,360 miles since launch at a current speed of 51,015 mph and has 46,603,478 miles left to travel.
