DELL Inspiron 14 5000 Series 5402 (laptop)

A new machine in the house. LDK purchased a replacement laptop to replace an aging DELL laptop (~10 years old).

The replacement one will be used as a workstation with attached monitor, keyboard and mouse, and a 14″ laptop will fit the necessary requirements.

Time was spent organising data from the old machine ready for the new machine and learning about OneDrive. This was a useful opportunity to do a complete data overhaul/spring clean.

Machine was configured on first time running, redundant manufacturer installed trial software removed and additional software installed as required (such as Office 365).

Other items

Bluetooth keyboard and mouse was purchased separately, from Microsoft, and minimises wiring clutter on desktop.

Temporary Monitor in use (Samsung 19″) required purchase of additional cable (HDMI-VGA), later replaced by HDMI-DVI for better picture on monitor. (Needs replacement/newer monitor)
